Wisp Whisper Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 8, 2026
Wisp Whisper is made by Mana Star Studio ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the data described here. Contact: manastarofficial@gmail.com.
The short version
- The game works fully offline, and your Garden is saved on your device.
- There are no ads, no advertising ID, no accounts with email or phone, and no analytics or crash-reporting companies. We do not sell or share your data.
- Two online features are optional: community rankings and profiles, and anonymous play statistics. Both use our own server, run by Cloudflare on our behalf.
What stays on your device
Your Garden save and settings stay on your device.
- Android backup. If you have Google backup turned on, Android may include your save in your encrypted device backup or device-to-device transfer. That backup belongs to your Google account; we cannot see it.
- Export codes that you create stay with you, and we never receive them. An export code contains your ranking access key so you can move your ranking to a new device. Keep export codes private: anyone with one can post scores as you.
Community rankings and profiles (optional)
Nothing is sent until you choose a ranking name in the Leaderboards menu. After that, the game sends:
- the ranking name you choose, which is public;
- a random player ID and an access key created by the game (we store only a scrambled form of the key);
- your ranking scores and their short details, with the times they were recorded and submitted;
- progress totals used to keep rankings fair, such as play-progress time and item totals, with sequence numbers and receipts;
- a scrambled form of a random installation ID created by the game. It is not a hardware ID or advertising ID. It stops one ranking from being used on many devices at once.
Public: your ranking name, player ID, scores and their details, and your profile picture if you publish a profile.
Social profiles. If you publish a profile, other players can see what you publish: your friend code, collection totals, a featured Wisp and its appearance, and your levels. Even when you have not published, signed-in players can see your ranking name and when it was created. Friend requests, friend lists and block lists are private to you.
Reports. If you report a player, we receive who reported whom, the reason you picked (name, profile or harassment) and the time. There is no free text. We use reports to moderate.
Fair play. To protect the rankings, the server records rejected submissions (a reason code, counts and the scrambled installation ID). We may hide scores, rename offensive names or block a player from the rankings. We keep a record of each block.
Stopping. You can turn online rankings off at any time in the Leaderboards menu. Nothing more is sent after that. To remove what was already sent, see "Deleting your data" below.
Anonymous play statistics (optional)
These help us see how many people play and where the game needs work. The game asks before sending anything:
- In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland and nearby territories, and wherever your region is unknown, nothing is sent unless you tap Share.
- Elsewhere, a notice explains the statistics, and they start only after you tap OK. You can tap Turn off instead.
What is sent:
- a random statistics ID, separate from your ranking name and ID;
- once a day: your play time, number of sessions, Keeper and skill levels, number of milestones reached, the app version, the platform, your first day played, and counts of errors and of Save Recovery use;
- while the game is open, a short "online now" signal (the statistics ID only) every 5 minutes.
Our server also records your country, worked out from your connection. It does not store your IP address.
Never sent: your name, ranking name, save contents, export codes, a location more precise than country, or any advertising ID.
You can turn statistics off at any time in More › Privacy. Turning them off deletes the statistics already sent under your ID. If you are offline, the deletion finishes the next time the game connects. Turning them on again starts a new ID.
Why we use your data (legal bases)
- Rankings and profiles: to provide a feature you choose to use. Moderation and fair play rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the rankings fair and safe.
- Play statistics: your consent where the law requires it (for example, in the EEA and UK), and otherwise our legitimate interest in improving the game. You can turn them off at any time.
We do not use any of this data for advertising or profiling, and we make no automated decisions with legal effects about you.
How long we keep data
- Play statistics: daily records are deleted after 13 months, or as soon as you turn statistics off. Only overall totals remain, such as players per day per country; they contain no ID. "Online now" signals are forgotten after 10 minutes.
- Rankings and profiles: kept while the rankings run, or until you delete them. Short-term records, such as fair-play checkpoints, rejected submissions and duplicate-request records, are trimmed automatically. An unfinished ranking sign-up is deleted after 24 hours.
- Moderation records of blocked players are kept so that blocks keep working.
- Server recovery: our database host keeps a 7-day recovery history, so deleted data can remain there for up to 7 days.
- Server logs: Cloudflare keeps short-lived technical logs for a sample of requests. These can include details such as your IP address and are kept for a few days.
Who processes your data
Our server and this website run on Cloudflare, Inc., which processes requests and stores data on our behalf, and may do so outside your country, including in the United States. Cloudflare relies on recognised transfer safeguards for this. The game contacts no other service. The only exception is the in-game Discord link, which opens Discord in your browser if you tap it; Discord's own privacy policy applies there.
Children
Wisp Whisper is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, for example in a ranking name, contact us and we will delete it.
Deleting your data
- Rankings and profiles, in the game: open Leaderboards › Account & troubleshooting and tap Delete My Ranking Data. This deletes your ranking name, scores, profile, friends, blocks and fair-play records from our server straight away. Your Garden is not affected.
- Rankings and profiles, by email: if you cannot use the game (for example, you uninstalled it), email manastarofficial@gmail.com with your ranking name. We will delete your data within 30 days and confirm by email. We may ask a question to check that the ranking is yours.
- Play statistics: turn them off in More › Privacy; this deletes them.
Moderation records of blocked players are the only exception, as described above.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, the EEA, UK, Switzerland or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or move your data, to object to its use, or to withdraw consent. To use these rights, contact manastarofficial@gmail.com. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
We will post changes on this page and update the date above. If a change is significant, we will also mention it in the game.
